On Wednesday, 6th of November at 11:25 p.m. Grand County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 2200 Murphy Lane on a report of a single vehicle accident. A passerby had come upon the accident and called 911. Upon arrival Deputies found a 1986 Gray GMC pickup on its side on the east shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle had been traveling northbound in that location when it left the roadway on the southbound side and overcorrected and traveled back across the roadway overturned and rolled on the shoulder of the northbound lane. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene of the accident. A male passenger was transported to Moab Regional Hospital with serious injuries. They were the only occupants of the pickup. The driver was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Salt Lake City by Spanish Valley Mortuary. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Utah Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
