The Grand County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety are currently searching for a helicopter and its two occupants that were reported overdue on April 6, 2014. The helicopter and occupants left the area of Greenriver, Utah on April 6, 2014 at approximately 11:15 a.m. to search for Elk Antler sheds. The helicopter was reported overdue at approximately 8:00 p.m. on the 6th. The Department of Public Safety was contacted at that time and are using their helicopter to assist in the search. DPS helicopter flew the evening of the 6th using their FLIR(forward looking infra-red) to aid in that search. The search went until approximately midnight and is resuming again this a.m. The surrounding counties have been contacted and airports checked in those counties to determine if that aircraft may have landed within those jurisdictions, so far that is negative.
